About

This site is intended as a resource to support the study of the religion in films. It primarily does so by listing academic bookscholarly articles and syllabi of college course related to this study.

The site started of as an honor project I did at UCSB (University of California Santa Barbara) for Professor Richard D. Hecht’s and Patricia Morrill’s Fall 2004 course on “Religion and Film“. After the course was over I barely touched the site for seven years.

In 2011 I started to rebuild it. As this is a hobby site of a single person–meaning I don’t have the time, resources and energy to include all the content and features I would like to see here–the site will grow gradually.

in 2014 I moved it to a new platform (WordPress) that will enable adding content faster.
